The trust is delighted to announce two new temporary appointments.
Tom McCappin is to be Project Manager of Cowden. Tom will steer the garden through the final stages before we open to the public and manage the 2018 season.
Ian Gallacher is joining Cowden as under gardener until November.
The garden has been inaccessible for long periods this year and as a result sections of the restoration are behind schedule. We are aiming to open at the end of May in order for visitors to see the spring flowers. 2018 is going to be a ‘soft opening’. We are installing two new bespoke bridges this April, but there are still areas needing investment, including the surface of the paths, which are quite stony underfoot, so please bear with us and wear suitable outdoor footwear. Cowden is managed by a charity and is entirely dependent on donations. As a result the restoration is continuing at a steady, but positive, pace. We look forward to sharing the progress with our visitors in approximately two months’ time.
