Kate became Head Gardener in October 2016. Her horticultural qualifications include a HND in Horticulture and Plantsmanship, and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh certificates in Practical Field Botany and Diploma in Garden History. In 1999 she gained a BSc in Crop and Soil Science from the University of Wales, Bangor. Kate is currently on the council of The Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society and involved in verifying their Grow and Learn Program, she is also an active member of the Japanese Garden Society.
