"Join us for a Festive Folding workshop where you’ll be introduced to the wonderful art of origami and paper folding.
You’ll be guided through the process of making some stunning three-dimensional geometric hanging decorations using just a few simple folds. You’ll also make a beautiful string of origami Christmas lights to take home with you at the end of the class.
A wide choice of colourful and patterned paper will be provided as well as all the materials you'll need (including LED lights and batteries).
Tutor: Kate Collin www.katecolindesign.com
Kate Colin is a paper artist and designer whose range of work is created through intricate hand scoring and folding techniques. She is a QEST scholar, a graduate of the Crafts Council’s Hothouse programme and regularly exhibits and teaches throughout the UK.
"Really enjoyed the workshop today. Fascinating to turn paper (flat, static) into such interesting forms so readily (lively, architectural surfaces which reflect light in different ways..). I'd love to lose myself in the focused accuracy and almost rhythmic nature of it''
