Tree Festival at Cowden – October 2020

When visiting a garden throughout the year trees are often overlooked, but at this time of year they are the star of the show. Their beautiful display of colour in Autumn is dazzling especially when caught in the reflections in our pond.

Over the next few weeks we will be celebrating our trees and woodland with a range of activities to suit all ages. Why not come along and join in the celebrations or if unable to join us in person follow our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter posts where we will bring our unique trees to you.

Along side our new Acorn Trail and new puzzles on our familiar Children’s Woodland Trail, we have added the following activities for children to enjoy:

  • A woodland scavenge hunt – in a woodland you can find so many interesting items on the woodland floor. Pick up a scavenge hunt list in your Children’s Activity pack and see how many of these items you can find.
  • Identify your leaves – collect leaves whilst walk around the garden and then head to our Christie Room to see how many different types of leaves you can guess correctly.
  • Palm Tree – whilst in the Christie Room why not add your (palm) leaf to our Cowden Palm Tree using your pencil in you activity pack

We will be adding details of our other activities throughout the next few days.
